The Tamil Nadu government has launched the 'Mukhyamantri Thayumanavar Yojana' to deliver ration to the homes of more than 21 lakh beneficiaries on 12 August 2025. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin described the Thayumanavar Scheme as very close to his heart as it will benefit senior citizens above 70 years of age and Divyangjans. 

Stalin flagged off the vehicles built for the launch of the Thayumanavar Scheme and also visited the homes of some beneficiaries and handed over the essential items to them. He said that the scheme was prepared keeping in mind the difficulties faced by the said group of ration card holders in reaching fair price shops. An additional cost of Rs 30.16 crore will be incurred in launching the Thayumanavar Scheme.

• The Tamil Nadu government has launched the Mukhyamantri Thayumanavar Yojana with the aim of door-to-door distribution of ration material to all ration card holders in the state.
• Under the Mukhyamantri Thayumanavar Yojana, ration material will be delivered to the homes of over 21 lakh beneficiaries in the state.
